Bring mothers, daughters, aunts, grandmothers and friends. "Hag HaBanot" (חג הבנות) translates to "Festival of Daughters" and is a North African Jewish holiday, celebrated on the 7th night of Hanukkah or on Rosh Chodesh Tevet. It is sometimes called Eid al-Banat in Judeo-Arabic.
The tradition originates from the Jewish communities of North Africa, particularly in Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia. Celebrations often include honoring heroic women, giving gifts to girls and women, and singing. It can also be a time for reconciliation among women. We welcome the women of Ahavath Achim to be the reason for Hag Ha B'not!
